The Pocono Choral Society is a
non-profit organization dedicated to
enriching community culture through quality
performances of a variety of choral music.
Begun in 1981, PCS has grown from a handful
of singers to over 50 musicians, many of
whom bring a wealth of experience as past or
present participants in other civic,
religious and professional choirs and
instrumental groups.
PCS has performed throughout the area,
giving concerts for Grey Towers in Milford,
PA, the Slate Belt Performing Arts Council,
Unity House Resort in Bushkill, Luther Crest
in Allentown and Heath Village in
Hackettstown, NJ. In December 1995, the
society debuted in New York City and in
Atlantic City. In 1984, PCS toured Europe,
giving six concerts in four countries. In
1992, the choral society sang throughout
Nova Scotia. The group toured and performed
throughout the British Isles in 1996 and in
2001 toured and performed in Scandinavia.
In June 2005, the Pocono Choral
Society joined the New York Choral Society, Uncle Yao's
Chorus and the Zhi Yin Chorus for a performance of the
Yellow River Cantata at the Lincoln
Center, Avery Fisher Hall.
Each year during the holiday season, the members carol at
local resorts.
PCS is open to all and auditions are held
periodically throughout the year. For more
